Last night about eleven-thirty I received a call from Fr. Neeb. While spikes in his sugar levels are the reason for his hospitalization he has had chronic problems with an ulcer on one of his middle toes. Diabetes very often affects the feet in unfavorable ways. The toe is deeply infected and unresponsive to treatment. The physicians are concerned that the infection will get into the bone (not good) and will likely remove a portion or all of the toe sometime today. Your intercessions are desired. He is in room 3725 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Since it is likely he will have surgery today, if you are inclined to visit it would be good to call plenty ahead of time to check with the nursing staff about what times are best.
O FATHER of mercies, and God of all comfort, our
only help in time of need; We humbly beseech thee
to behold, visit, and relieve thy sick servant Bob, for whom
our prayers are desired. Look upon him with the eyes of
thy mercy; comfort him with a sense of thy goodness; preserve
him from the temptations of the enemy; and give him
patience under his affliction. In thy good time, restore him
to health, and enable him to lead the residue of his life in
thy fear, and to thy glory. And grant that when this life is
ended, through faith in thy dear Son, he may dwell with thee
in life everlasting, for the sake of the same, our Lord and
Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
