This Wednesday, Friday and Saturday is the Advent Embertide. During this time, we offer thanks for God’s sustenance and provision for the previous quarter and seek God’s blessing for the coming one. A special focus of the Ember Days is also ordination. We pray that God would: “put it into the hearts of many to dedicate themselves to the sacred ministry of Christ’s church,” he would bless current ministers, and be with those who are about to be ordained anywhere in the church.
The Collect for these days is:
O ALMIGHTY God, who hast committed to the hands of men the ministry of reconciliation; We humbly beseech thee, by the inspiration of thy Holy Spirit, to put it into the hearts of many to offer themselves for this ministry; that thereby mankind may be drawn to thy blessed kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

God bless your Ember Day intentions.
