Lost Lenten Devotions

Dear Brethren,

For reasons this technologically challenged priest does not understand, my ability to post on this page was not functioning for at least two weeks as of yesterday. Lenten posts I wanted to share have not been posted. Here are links to some of the intended posts.

I recommend the prayer of St. Ephrem (linked here but also below), The Canon of St. Andrew of Crete (formatted for daily devotions beginning the first Monday in Lent, Bach’s The Passion of St. Matthew (with English subtitles), a suggestion for contemplative prayer, and a thought on fasting from St. John Chrysostom.

O Lord and Master of my life! Take from me the spirit of sloth, faint-heartedness, lust of power, and idle talk. But give rather the spirit of chastity, humility, patience, and love to Thy servant. Yea, O Lord and King! Grant me to see my own errors and not to judge my brother; For Thou art blessed unto ages of ages. Amen

More to come.

Lenten Blessings,

Fr. Wayne
