Michaelmas Ember Days

My Dear Brethren,

Just a reminder that today is the end of the Fall or Michaelmas (mik-ul-mus) Ember Days.

Please be in prayer for the unity of all Christians BOCP pg 57:

O GOD, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, our only
Saviour, the Prince of Peace; Deliver thy Church, we
beseech thee, from all prejudice and contention, and whatsoever
else may hinder us from godly union and concord;
That, as there is but one body, and one Spirit, and one hope
of our calling; one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism, one God
and Father of us all, so we may be all of one heart and of
one mind, united in one holy bond of truth and peace,.

for the increase of those called to ordained ministry BOCP pg. 60:

O ALMIGHT Y God, look mercifully upon the world
which thou hast redeemed by the blood of thy dear
Son; and, by thy Holy Spirit, incline the hearts of many to
dedicate themselves to the sacred Ministry of thy Church;
through the same thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

for the blessing and strrength of all godly Christian ministries, especially godly monastic orders:

O LORD, our heavenly Father, whose blessed Son came
not to be ministered unto, but to minister; We beseech
thee to bless all who, following in his steps, give themselves
to the service of their fellow men and especially all godly monastic orders.
Endue them with wisdom, patience, and courage to strengthen the weak
and raise up those who fall; that, being inspired by thy love,
they may worthily minister in thy Name to the suffering,
the friendless, and the needy; for the sake of him who laid
down his life for us, the same thy Son, our Saviour Jesus
Christ. Amen.

…and for the many fatal sins  and spiritual diseases of our nation (abortion, sexual anarchy, ungodly uses of contraception,  debt based economy, debasement of the currency, humanism, political polytheism, statism, unjust divorce).

For those who wish to join me I will observing an hour of prayer at 5:00 pm this evening at the Parish church. Hope to see some of you then.

Blessings all as we bathe the Church and our nation in prayer,

Fr. Wayne
