St. Lazarus Mission

Holy Eucharist at Livingston Care Center

For more than twenty years, a team of dedicated lay ministers from  Christ the King and Christ our Hope parishes in Dayton have  partnered to form St. Lazarus Mission, actively providing residents of a  local nursing home, Livingston Care Center, with ongoing pastoral  care, “family” visits, and regular Sunday services. We believe that all  Christians are uniquely called by God to “hold out the hands of Jesus  Christ to the least, the lonely, the labelled, and the lost.” We also believe that our parish family specifically includes these all too often abandoned, forgotten, and neglected members of the Body of Christ.

Volunteers are always welcome to join in, regardless of age or experience. Even just visiting a resident once in a while or “adopting a grandparent” as a family makes a huge difference in the lives of real people who need to know that Jesus has never forgotten them.

We also have special events each year including our youngest members’ performance of a Christmas Play, which is a big favorite of the residents!
