Ministry Update: No Longer Strangers (Refugee Ministry)

From Pam Laughlin, director of No Longer Strangers: “Circumstances arise periodically that cause us to question whether we should continue or just throw in the towel. This fall has been such a challenge. We had more kids in the tutoring program than we had volunteers and more children who desired to come to our King’s Kid Club (run by Cedarville University students) on Sunday night than we were able to transport. These obstacles seemed insurmountable, but the Lord provided wisdom and insight that convinced us we could continue even when it seem we did not have the resources. Then several weeks ago we learned we were to be the recipients of a mission offering that was to be taken at Cedarville University. We were under the impression it would be several thousand dollars, but today we were presented the check that was more than $10,000. We were truly humbled yet full of gratitude to both the university students and to our Almighty God! We have been very thankful for the collaboration we have had with the university and look forward to further collaborative efforts between our ministry and Cedarville University. A huge thank-you to Brian Nester, Director of Global Outreach, for supporting our ministry over the past six years, for taking the time to come and visit with our children, and for inviting us to campus today to attend chapel and share lunch with the students. It has been a wonderful day!”Cedarville Refugee Ministry
