Prayer Request Update: Dorathea’s Daughter Janet

We have been blessed with good news, and I’d like you to share it with our
two parish families. My 38 year old daughter, who was diagnosed with stage
4 thymic cancer in May has completed intensive chemo treatments for the past
5 months. She nearly died after two of them and was hospitalized, once with
temporary paralysis. She just received the results this week of her most
recent PET scan, and there are no active cancer cells! Although she still
has cancer cells, they are right now in remission. We are praising God for
answering our prayers for a miracle. It appears that her life will be
extended.

Please continue to keep her in your prayers, though, as there are a couple
of masses that they don’t know what they are. She will begin radiation
therapy in November to attempt to destroy them. She has been a real trooper
and has had a positive attitude up until her last chemo treatment, when she
said she wanted to give up. It’s been a real battle for her, but we’ve all
been encouraging her to keep fighting and praying for restored health if
that’s God’s will. She has lost about 30 lbs – down to a size 2 jeans (she
was slim before all this), but is getting an appetite again. We are all
praising God!!

Thank you, thank you, to each of you who has been praying for her and our
family!

In Christ,
Dorathea
