On Line Fellowship
is a service of Reformed Episcopal Seminary, the Theological Seminary of the Diocese of the Northeast. Please address all correspondence to editor@RESeminary.edu
The Rev. Charles Raven, Executive Director of the Society for the Preservation of Evangelical Doctrine, will be speaking in Chapel at Reformed Episcopal Seminary on Monday, February 1, at 12:00 noon. Raven was educated at Oxford University where he read philosophy, politics and economics. After a brief career in banking, he trained for the Church of England ministry at Cranmer Hall, Durham. He was ordained in 1988 and from 1992 he was incumbent at St. John the Baptist Kidderminster in the Diocese of Worcester. In 1999 the then diocesan bishop publicly disowned Resolution 1.1-0 of the 1998 Lambeth Conference which reaffirmed biblical teaching on sexuality. As a result, St. John’s, under Charles’ leadership, broke fellowship publicly with the bishop as a matter of conscience. Eventually this led to the formation in 2002 of Christ Church Wyre Forest, based in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, as an Anglican congregation outside the official structures of the Church of England. With his wife, Gillian, Charles was a delegate at GAFCON in Jerusalem.
Brother James A. Blauvelt of The Brotherhood of Saint Andrew and ACNA representative, will be on campus that day as well. All are welcome.
Last week we requested prayer for Jan Gillin who was to undergo ear surgery. Jan will undergo another surgery in about four months, but this surgery went very well. She thanks everyone for their prayers.
